Ultimate Billiards Ft Pierce, Fl was the latest venue to host the $1700 Added KF Cue Tour event on 7/25/09. The OPEN Event would kick off with 41 very strong local and international players showing up for the $1000 Added event. Marco Tschudi, and Thomas Belka travelled from Germany, Mike Davis, Charlie Williams, Tony Crosby, Richard Broumpton, and Manny Chau just to mention a few of the other strong players in attendance.
Adam Wheeler who in January had taken down a KF Amateur event as a high level Amateur player would finally back this status up by coming out on top of a very strong open field.
Wheeler opened his tournament bid with an eye-opening 9-2 win over European Marco Tschludi. He followed that with a 7-5 win over Raul Alverez and then sent tournament director Tony Crosby west 9-6 before dismantling Jerry Calderon 9-1 to put himself in the winner side final. Manny Chau playing in his first KF event would be his opponent; Chau had just beaten Jeff Hughes 9-6 for a shot at Wheeler. Chau would soon find himself on the one loss side after a hard fought 9-8 loss to Wheeler.

Open Winner Adam Wheeler
On the one loss side Charlie Williams was looking strong after taking a first round loss to Senior Pro Wayne Catledge, he would rally through the field to finish 4th after taking his 2nd loss to Jerry Calderon 7-2. Calderon would now have to face good friend and road partner Manny Chau, with both players playing strong pool on the day they decided to flip a coin and save time with Chau coming out to face Wheeler for the 2nd time. The result would be no different this time as Wheeler would take no time to build a commanding lead and eventually take the match 9-6 and his first KF Open Cue title. Congratulations to Adam Wheeler!

The $700 Added Amateur event kicked off with 62 players battling it out. On the day Newcomer to the Tour Stan Ketcham was playing some very strong pool to capture the Hotseat with a commanding win over Albert Howe 7-2.
Mark Wathen who has been the no 1 points leader for most of the season would take an early exit from the event with two tough hill hill losses which would now mean Albert Howe would jump in front to take the player of the year title.
Jimmy Sandaler who is classed as a high level Amateur would have to give a 2 rack start to his opponents all day. Sandaler had taken an earlier loss to Albert Howe 7-2 and would work his way back through the field for another shot at Howe on the one loss side final. Howe was now playing like the no 1 player on tour and took this match 6-2 and would then go on to play his best pool of the day and take his 3rd KF title of the year with a fine win over Stan Ketcham 8-2.
